Email hello@buzzsheffield.co.uk to request a pack to be sent.
We are busy creating entertainment packs to send out to older people who are more vulnerable to being lonely during this period of social distancing. The packs will be paper based and include;
Quizzes, large print crosswords, Radio Sheffield’s timetable of programmes (so people can tune in to the interactive shows and maybe get a shout out and a song played!) a myth busting fact sheet to try to allay fears and our phone numbers with times we are available.
We’re also asking for recipes and memories. Each week we’ll send questions based on a theme to prompt memories. We’re planning to bring all the memories and recipes together into a ‘book’ that we can share with everyone. We will include a Stamped Addressed Envelope in case a family member or friend can post but we will also be phoning people who want a phone call and can collect the info then over a good natter!
Any ideas as we go are very welcomed! We’re making a start but as this period of time may last for a while we’ll need all your ideas to keep it fresh and engaging!
See the previous update on Time to Chat time slots too!

During the period of time we can’t run our Child Contact Centre, we are offering a postal service. It’s a small way of helping parents who don’t live with their child to keep in touch during this difficult and uncertain time. If you want to know more or want to use the service please email childcontactcentre@buzzsheffield.co.uk

In response to the latest government advice, we are pausing all services. If you are a service user, you should receive a text from us today, if you don’t receive it, please get in touch to update your contact details.
Email paula@buzzsheffield.co.uk.
We will do everything we can to keep in touch with all our service users, especially those who are most vulnerable. We are planning today. We will put phone numbers on here and social media with times we are available so people can stay in touch, share any worries, get advice or just have a chat! We will be phoning some service users who we know will be especially isolated and see how else we can help once we have spoken to them.
We understand that for our contact centre service users this is going to be a particularly difficult time, keep in touch and as soon as we can we will resume contact sessions.
Watch out for updates, take care and please don’t hesitate to get in touch, even if you just want a chat, we are here, even if it is over the phone and not in person! We are hoping to be on Radio Sheffield tomorrow morning (via phone call) at about 10.30am so listen in and keep in touch!
